The Finance Minister Shri P Chidambaram with a view to augment the domestic availability of steel products & soften steel prices has announced a set of measures- reduction of custom duty on steel products and three critical inputs for manufacture of steel, imposition of export duty of 15%, 10% & 5% on specific products etc.
