Markets with the Biggest Drop in Capital Goods imported
On the other hand, as for the countries that had a strong slowdown in their sales to Peru of Capital Goods, India is the market that decreased the most with a balance amount of US $ 603 million and showing a negative variation of 83% compared with the same period last year.
The products that show a greater decrease are machines and appliances for the sugar industry, parts of other gas turbines, new rubber tyres, with high reliefs in the form of blocks, angles or similar, of the types used in vehicles and machines for construction or industrial maintenance, for tyres with a diameter greater than 61 cm, Other ceramic tiles and flagstones, for paving or covering.

1. India investments in US
3.1 Engineering firm AXISCADES plans investment in Indiana: Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb on his trade mission to India met with the directors of the Bangalore, based engineering corporation AXISCADES. Through those meetings, AXISCADES decided to expand its operations in Indiana. The company will invest more than $10 million in the state thereby adding up to 500 new jobs before the end of 2023.
3.2 Mahindra to build new plant in Auburn Hills: Mahindra Automotive North America opened a new headquarters and assembly facility in Auburn Hills, Michigan. The idea behind this venture is to leave footprint in the US beyond tractors to off-road utility/work vehicles and on-road work vehicles such as a post-office vehicle it has developed. The plant will be built on Rex Road and cover about 150,000 square feet. Mahindra is investing $22.3 million in the project that will employ about 105 people initially. This is part of $230 million Mahindra is spending across three locations in southeast Michigan, including a recently opened warehouse and logistics operation in Pontiac and existing prototype operation in Troy.
3.3 Wipro acquires Appirio: In 2015, Appirio Inc., a tech firm acquired by Wipro in 2016, announced plans to move its corporate headquarters from San Francisco to Indianapolis. The company plans to invest $7.7 million in Indiana and grow its headcount to 577 employees by the end of 2020.
2. US investments in India
4.1 Boeing inaugurates Bangalore facility: In September 2017, Boeing inaugurated its new facility at the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) in Bengaluru. The additional facility will enable Boeing to focus on state-of-the-art technology areas such as data analytics, internet-of-Things, etc. in India and around the world.
4.2 Kraft Heinz India planning new products in 2018: Other than the aim to double its topline by 2021, Kraft Heinz India is also planning to introduce its global brand ‘Planners’ in the country besides evaluating contemporary India-specific brands for its new line of nutritional products.
4.3 Kellogg to invest in India: Kellogg’s plans to double business in India. By 2023 the company expects to invest USD 70-80 million in India.
4.4 Caterpillar to invest $210mn in India: Caterpillar Inc. will invest $210 million in India to capitalize on the expected spurt in road construction and infrastructure development activities in India. The company will invest $150 million to build a facility that will produce its Perkins branded 4000 Series engines, and an additional $62 million in its existing off-highway truck manufacturing facility in Chennai. Caterpillar currently has 3 manufacturing facilities, 1 logistics services base and a research and development center in India.
