On 23rd of October 2018, H.E. Mr. Rahul Kulshreshth, Ambassador of India to Egypt, met with H.E. Dr. Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Sharawy, Egyptian Minister of Local Development. They discussed the bilateral cooperation between India and Egypt in several fields including the opportunities of collaboration in the Local Development projects, Lines of Credit and ITEC Programmes.
Dr. Vinod Bahade, First Secretary (Commerce) met with Mr. Moustafa Abo El Makarem, Railway Maintenance Company on 17th October 2018 and discussed the possibility of participation of Indian companies and repair and maintenance of the Egyptian rail tracks. The details of the proposal were subsequently shared by Mission with the relevant Indian agencies.

Significant Trends in trade investment
Exports by India to Malta during the period September 2018 stood at US$ 14.07 million and India’s imports from Malta stood at US$0.69 million.
Exports by India to Malta during 2017-2018 stood at US$ 195.86 million and India’s imports from Malta stood at US$15.95 million.
The main items of India`s exports to Malta are marine products, drugs, pharmaceutical & fine chemicals, inorganic/organic/agro chemicals, manufactures of metals, transport equipments, and other commodities. The main items of India`s imports from Malta are pulp and waste paper, metal scraps, organic chemicals, medicinal & pharmaceutical products, and electronic goods.
Analysis : During 2017-2018, there is an increase in export by India to Malta amounted to US$58.63 million and decrease in import by Malta to India amounted to US$6.42 million as compared during 2016-2017

Seminar on “Ease of Doing Business with India”

In a series of outreach events to the Universities and Business Management Students, Embassy of India Bangkok in association with St. Theresa International College, organized a Seminar on “Ease of Doing Business with India” and the recent Initiatives of the Indian Government under “Make in India” at Joseph Marie Auditorium, St. Theresa International College, Nakhon Nayok Province on Wednesday the 14 November, 2018. The event was attended by more than 100 students and faculty members of St. Theresa International College. Dr. Piyada Wattanasan, President St. Theresa International College, welcome the participants and appreciated the efforts of the Indian Embassy to organize the Seminar at the College to educate the students about superb developments that are taking place in India. Dr Sanjay Kumar, Commercial Representative, Embassy of India, Bangkok made a detailed presentation on ‘Ease of doing business with India’ and the recent initiatives of the Indian Government under ‘Make in India’ and answered to various questions of students and faculties. Dr. Chaipat Wattansan, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Ajarn Prachuab Trinikorn, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration and Dr. Meena Madhavan, Director(Research) also addressed the gathering and shared their ideas on enhancement of Business Collaborations between India and Thailand.
