During the last five years, engineering exports have achieved an average growth of over 25%. However, there is a slight fall during 2005-06 owing to the Rupee Appreciation. In spite of this, the engineering exports during 2005-06, were more or less static as compared to the corresponding period of previous year, as USA is considered to be one of the major markets for Indian engineering products, which has an overall impact on the engineering export performance of the country. On the whole the last five years has seen steady growth and particularly it was significant at 42.60% during 2004-05 and 30.28% during 2006-07.
