EEPC India’s National Export Excellence Awards
Recognizing the meritorious performance of Member Exporters each year is one of EEPC India’s most coveted ceremonies where success is lauded while good effort is commended. Our member exporters belong to a cross-section of the engineering industry with different scales of operation. They circumvent innumerable challenges, vagaries of global markets and a host of uncertainties to emerge as leading exporters from India. Through our Annual National Export Excellence Awards, EEPC India makes a humble effort to recognize the outstanding performers in different engineering export categories
The 2008-09 EEPC India’s National Awards for Export Excellence, apart for being the most coveted Function for our members, is also 41st year of presentation of National Export Excellence Awards by EEPC India.
In 1967-68, EEPC India, then called the Engineering Export Promotion Council, recognized the contribution of its member exporters and awarded badges and certificates of merit to those members who had exported more than 10% of their production and/or had exceeded an export performance of Rs 2.5 lakhs during that year. 74 firms were recognized on this basis that year.
EEPC India will be giving away a total of 107 Awards this year, of which 11 belong to the Top Exports Award categories comprising Gold and Silver Trophies, 86 representing 34 categories of engineering groups, 7 Silver Plaques representing Special contribution for highest growth in exports, participation in Council’s promotional activities, best performances with respect to Thrust Markets and Thrust Products and 3 Quality Awards respectively. The Who's Who of lndian Engineering have competed with each other in order to bag the Awards. The process of selection is most rigorous with detailed analysis of various aspects of each company's performance, as also ensuring the companies are not under the DEL list of DGFT.
The Union Commerce & Industry Minister, Mr. Anand Sharma, will present the National Awards at Bangalore on 10th September, 2010. Entrusted with shaping the destiny of modern India's foreign trade sector at a momentous period of time, there can be no better person to do the honours than Mr. Anand Sharma and it's a great privilege for our member-exporters to receive the Award from him.
